Our whole weekend was busy and beautiful! The weather held for our 3-day break and we made the most of it by getting out and doing…well a lot!
Saturday we didn’t have any plans other than the boys youth bowling league in the morning so we decided to just drive and explore. We ended up at Cape Maeda, a beautiful spot that is obviously a diver’s dream and will be packed with people this summer. Our visit was quiet as the sea conditions were dangerous (too much wind and rough seas had the water closed off) but it made for an awesome view and meandering walk.
E checking out the view…
They couldn’t go any further as it was roped off due to the sea conditions.
Then they decided to strike a pose…
Yes, I am wearing a jacket…the breeze off the ocean was a bit nippy!
So much blue! Beautiful.

Palm trees and blue seas…in January!
Family photo op…even if it was goofy faces.
Sunday brought a whole new adventure…a trip to Motobu. What for you ask? To see the Cherry Blossoms of course! Here in Okinawa the blossoms start to bloom this time of year and there is a huge celebration and festivals. So we took a tour to see what it was all about.
Oh the view…
Some of the beautiful flowers in bloom.
A street vendor had some interesting vegetables…like this one that looked like a huge foot
This tree owns the road!
Our guide told us it was a quick 5 minute walk to get the best view. 15 minutes later…up a nice long hill we came to this view. Worth the hike!
I’m not sure E thought it was “all that!”
I was able to finally get a shot without a ton of traffic. The hill was crawling with people…driving and walking the mountain.
After the climb up we made our way back down to the street festival to find some food.
Chicken on a stick, fruit on a stick, Soba noodles, and a cup of fries.
Beautiful pink blooms!
The climb took it all out of K…full belly and moving vehicle=nap time.
What can be more marvelous than days like these?
