Today was a beautiful day! When I woke up it seemed like it was going to be another grey, dreary and possible rainy weekend. Nope. Instead it was a warm, balmy blue sky day. (The only down was the slightly hazy skies…darn China soot!!)
After the boys bowling league we decided to head out, find a new place to eat, and do some exploring. Here’s our day in pictures:
Boots at the beach…well, yeah! (Only because I dressed for the dreariness.)
E and K having fun with the waves.
A stone statue (we want to buy one of these!)
Sea glass found along the beach
After walking the beach our tummies growled and we headed to find some food. A recommendation for this burrito stand had us heading back into town. Good choice!
Not a lot of seating so we headed a few blocks up to the beach…
Sure glad we did!
E was 3/4 way through his by the time I was able to snap this pic. (The face is due to interrupting his eating.)
Rock formation at Araha Beach.
K got to try out this zip line at a park at the beach.
Uh oh…a storm is moving in.
Time to find something to help cool off!
E was loath to wait while I snapped this picture…hurry up, Mom!
HB got a pineapple, raspberry ice cream with strawberry sauce…so, so good!
An El Camino in Okinawa. (Love the building colors behind it!)
I found Godzilla and Mothera!!
HB and I taking a break on a bench in Mihama.
HB saw this sign at the beach…apparently you must have Superman’s laser eyes to check the breathing!
We headed to the store where I found this! 🙂 Cold for 12 hours. UA Rocks!!
Coffee candy…yes, please!
Love these Okinawan cookies!
We finally found a grill!! Portable and gas. Burgers in our near future!
Since we were out for a good bit we took the pups for a walk…Takanni had a good run and then pooped out.
Final pic of the day…a lesson on the sun. After maybe an hour walking in the hazey sun I ended up with this nice red skin! Yes, I am white and this white girl will most definitely be carrying sun screen from now on! (The pic doesn’t do the red justice…)
Another fun filled day full of exploration and new sites. Now it’s time to kick back and relax. A glass of wine and a few Okinawa cookies…sounds like a great end to the day!
Have you seen any new sights lately?
Ever eaten food from a food cart?
